I received the authorization form the head of university security on Friday, September 12th in the afternoon and did the weeding of the stairs the next day with the help of Emily from the SAAG.

Sunday, September 20, 2009 – 1st Monument

I arrived to install the Monument on the stairs at the University.  Everything went well.  I had found, just below the stairs hidden in the bushes to the east, a styrofoam take-out food container, which I used as the form for the cast.  I also found another similar take-our food container at the SAAG and decided to cast it as well as a way to double my casting numbers.

Monday, September 21, 2009 – 2nd Monument

Arriving at the SAAG in the morning I showed the images of the 1st Monument to Ryan who immediately remined me that I was not allowed to place any of the Monument on the stairs (safety first).  And, I have to admit, I knew that.  I just really liked the installation of the wax pieces running up the stairs.  So I went back to the university to re-orient and reconfigure the pieces as a 2nd Monument.

The monuments sags from the heat of the sun and partly falls over.  No vandalism, yet.

And the monument sags again from the heat of the sun.  Now the whole thing is showing signs of compression.  Still no vandalism.
